First Comes Love LLC is a relatively new business in Luverne. Owner Mary Brown opened her bridal shop in January of 2021. In addition to owning First Comes Love, Mary is a nurse practitioner at Avera in Rock Valley, Iowa. Mary's mission with First Comes Love was to make each women feel fearfully and wonderfully made. Mary started her business with 20 wedding dresses and has expanded to mother's, bridesmaid and prom dresses. Mary enjoys the opportunity to share her seamstress talent to serve others as all alterations are done in house. With the growth of the business First Comes Love now employees three seamstresses.
Susie Remme has worked at First Comes Love since 2022. Susie has a passion for customer service and connecting with the clients, which is very apparent as she speaks about working in the bridal industry. When Susie started at First Comes Love she suggested to Mary that they attend a bridal show in Minneapolis. From that show 33 brides booked appointments and 29 brides bought their dresses. Susie spoke to the young professionals about keeping connections, as you never know where they may lead you, not being afraid of challenges in life, not to limit yourself, and to expect challenges in life.
