Blac-X-Farms is a family owned farm that has been in Rock County since 1941. Peter and Jay Bakken joined together in 2001 creating Blac-X-Farms, a cattle and crop C-corp business. The brothers are 50/50 partners in the business with each taking on different responsibilities. Jay manages the cattle while Peter manages the crops. They spoke of business of farming, efficiency vs. quality, involvement in the industry organizations, surrounding yourself with good people, profit margins, keeping up on national news, and market conditions. Ann Marie Bakken shared information about agricultural careers and Eli Bakken shared his role in the family farm. Thanks for the great morning and THANK YOU for being a financial supporter of the SWMN CEO program.
