Carrie (Bauer) Young graduated from Luverne and headed to Florida for college with the aspiration to be a lawyer. Never thinking she would move back close to her home only realizing after a life event it is good to be close to home. Carrie found her passion in sales and never looked back. Carrie and her husband focus their energy on real estate, The Milk and Cookies house and social media influencing. Carrie remembers being told by a middle school teacher 'it's not what you know, it's who you know". From the quote Carrie focused on making connections and building her network. Carrie spoke about reading business related books and shared her two favorite -"Think & Grow Rich" as well as "The Simple Plan to Wealth". Her first brand deal was with Huggies and she has since worked with many other brands. Companies want social media influencers who are brand safe meaning a company can confidently attach their brand to the influencer. Carrie went through the brand safe checklist, creating a media kit, tools for social media, providing value through social media, and encouraged the young professionals to create a dream board. Carrie advised the young professionals to not be afraid to pivot and try something new as well as if things don't work out get out early.
