Rock Ranch has been providing healing, comfort, and lasting memories for clients in southwest Minnesota for the past 10 years. Marie LaRock has always had a passion for horses, and with encouragement she felt called to follow, she took a leap of faith to build her dream. Alongside her husband, Dan, the couple created a refuge for many—a place where individuals can experience the excitement of riding a horse and where older generations can reconnect with cherished memories.

Rock Ranch is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations and grants while serving approximately 3,300 guests each year. The organization employs three mental health specialists and six additional staff members, supported by 40 dedicated volunteers who generously give their time and talents to serve each guest. Drawing on her background in speech therapy, Marie develops curriculum for young riders to learn horsemanship skills. One of the newest additions to Rock Ranch is a therapy cabin, which provides a flexible space for clients to engage with the horses at a level that feels comfortable as they work through personal challenges.

Thank you to Dan and Marie for sharing your dream with the SWMN CEO young professionals.
