We had our first business visit of the year at Clothier by Dawn in Pipestone!

After working in retail clothing, Dawn opened her own business 43 years ago. She shared that one of the hardest parts of starting her business was leaving her past employer, who had been a great mentor and taught her valuable lessons about selling, customer service, and the process of buying inventory.

Dawn credits her employees and loyal customers for much of her success. She also shared with our young professionals that she is still learning every day which was a great reminder that there is always room to grow, no matter how long you’ve been in business.

Dawn spoke about the importance of being involved in your community, being a responsible employee, marketing your business, and learning from your mistakes.

Luckily for us, Dawn loves what she does, so we can continue to visit Clothier by Dawn for years to come!

Thank you, Dawn, for a fun morning filled with learning, great conversation, and plenty of questions about the retail business!
