Billy and Missy Cowell balance their professional careers with the ownership and operation of Whispering Pines Event Center, Rock River Campground, and their Airbnb. Missy credits Billy’s entrepreneurial spirit as a driving force behind their ventures, while she provides the steadfast support that helps bring their shared vision to life.

In 2016, recognizing the need for additional campsites in the area, Billy and a business partner purchased the property and developed sites for both short- and long-term stays. An opportunity to relocate a house to the property later led to the creation of their Airbnb. In 2025, following the dissolution of the partnership, Billy and Missy built the event center to host their son and daughter-in-law’s wedding reception. Since then, the venue has welcomed a variety of events, including weddings, funerals, graduation celebrations, and Christmas parties.
